Welcome to the Athens Community Career Academy!

Athens Community Career Academy, located on the historic H.T. Edwards Campus, was founded in 2011 and offers a unique and innovative environment for high school students in the Clarke County School District. Our program provides career-focused, college-level courses at no cost to students through an established partnership with Athens Technical College. ACCA offers state-of-the-art labs, a student-managed cafe, and a student center for students to study, work on group projects, and interact with their peers. College pathways include Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Business Management, Emergency Medical Responder to name a few.  In addition to our college-level courses, students have the opportunity to participate in high school pathways which include: Culinary Arts, Welding, Nursing, Teaching as a Profession, Video Broadcasting, Cosmetology, and Hospitality.

Our program’s mission is very simple: To provide expansive opportunities for students to achieve educational and career goals while meeting local and regional workforce needs. We partner with local and regional businesses to ensure your students learn in a rigorous environment and gain the skills they need to be college and career-ready. In addition, local businesses are involved in curriculum development based on actual workforce needs and provide numerous internship and apprenticeship opportunities outside of the classroom; some even pay!

Since our inception, we've had several accomplishments, including being named the Lt. Governor’s College & Career Academy of the Year in 2014. Since the 2016 school year, we have saved families over $1,000,000 in tuition dollars and awarded over 40 Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC).   During the 2021-2022 school year, more than fifty students completed high school level pathways and more than thirty students earned technical certificates of credit.  Additionally,  students earned 1,485 hours of college credit and saved their families over $140,000 in college tuition.

At your Athens Community Career Academy, we are committed to providing a career-focused learning environment for students in grades 10-12.  We are glad that you have chosen our program as a part of your educational experience and look forward to partnering with you and your family this year.
Best wishes for the school year.
