Kindergarten has an annual Pioneer Day event which provides opportunities for STEAM related activities that increase student understanding of how we live now compared to long ago. Some of the activities include storytelling, butter churning, cooking hoecakes, writing with quills and ink and creating patterns and necklaces with beads. Students rotate between classrooms and explore artifacts from pioneer times provided by teachers, parents and community members.
