At Barnett Shoals, our students get to participate in a mini-version of the Olympics in our annual Mini-Olympics. Each homeroom class selects a country to represent, their “uniform” colors, and team chant. The Mini-Olympics begins with an opening ceremony just like the real Olympics. Teams participate in four events that resemble events in the real Olympics. Gold, Silver, and Bronze “medals” are awarded to the teams for each event, and the medal counts are totaled to find the overall team winner. The winner of the overall Mini-Olympic games is announced at our closing ceremonies!
