Counseling Department

The Cedar Shoals High School Counseling Department is committed to serving the academic, personal, and career/secondary education needs of all students in grades 9-12. Students are seen by appointments, or may walk-in in case of an emergency. In the event that the assigned counselor is unavailable, students may meet with the next available counselor. Counseling Department Vision

The Cedar Shoals Counseling Department envisions all students will graduate with the knowledge, skills, and character to succeed in our community and the global society. Students will achieve their post-secondary goals with the competence and readiness gained from a rigorous high school curriculum and positive high school climate. Cedar Shoals High School graduates are culturally competent and recognize the importance of giving back to the community.

Counseling Department Mission

The Cedar Shoals High School Counseling Department addresses the academic, social, and career needs of all students through the delivery of a comprehensive school counseling program. Counselors work to remove barriers to learning to promote equity and access in secondary education and post-secondary success. Our school counseling program is collaborative in nature – building relationships with students, families, teachers, administrators, community members and district leaders – and is accountable through data analysis and program reevaluation to adapt to the evolving needs of our student population.

Meet the CSHS Counseling Department Team

Students in grade 9 are assigned to the 9th Grade Counselor, Ms. Gordon. Students in grades 10-12 are assigned to a counselor alphabetically by their last name, Mrs. Wade: A-F; Mrs. Johnson: G-N; and Ms. Barnes: O-Z. Please see the list below to determine your counselor.
