Community Residential Services
Most of the services listed in this section are paid through NOW, COMP, SOURCE, CCSP, or ICWP Medicaid Waiver funding. Some agencies may accept self-pay. Services are for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities looking for 24/7 care, in-home living assistance, or supported living assistance.

Community Access Services
Community access services (previously known as day program/day habilitation services) are designed to assist the participant in acquiring, retaining, or improving self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills required for active participation and independent functioning outside the participant’s home or family home. It can take place during the day, in the evening, or on the weekend. Services can be achieved in group or one-on-one settings, based on the individual's needs.

Support and Therapy Services
Many individuals with special needs receive a variety of therapy while attending school. These same therapies are offered for adult-age individuals as well. There are also different agencies that offer informational or moral support to help families navigate through the world of services.

Financial Assistance
Apart from Medicaid, there are other government programs that your child or your family might be able to apply for. These programs provide financial assistance, health insurance, and other services. Each of these programs has its own eligibility requirements.

Job Assistance
There are many different types of work that could be beneficial and rewarding to an individual with a disability with a large continuum of services to support them. Some people are able to work in full or part-time positions, while others may need supported employment or one-on-one assistance in a volunteer position. There are also environments that offer integrated work environments or businesses focused on hiring only people with disabilities.

Transportation Assistance
Transportation can be one of the largest hindrances for people with disabilities. Multimodal transportation may be necessary in order for individuals to be able to access necessary services.
