Welcome to Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School, home of the R.O.A.Ring LIONS! I have served as principal here at BHL over the last six years, and it is an honor to continue in this role. At BHL, we are more than a learning institution; we are family! We take pride in being a community of nurturing educators who go above and beyond to meet the needs of all learners in order to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. We strive to maintain a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment that offers challenging and exciting learning experiences for all students. 

Student achievement is our top priority. As a parent, educator, and instructional leader with over 20 years of educational experience, I will make every effort to ensure that your child’s learning experience is relevant, rigorous, engaging, and safe. It is our goal to cultivate successful lifelong learners who are critical thinkers, college and career ready, and have the capacity to compete globally.  

A solid partnership between the school, students, and parents is key to building a strong school community and providing successful learning opportunities. I encourage you to become active in our school community by joining our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), our Local School Governance Team (LSGT), and/or by supporting our school events. I anticipate an exciting year on our journey to greater heights of academic excellence as we empower our students to Learn, Lead, and Succeed! We are LIONS, and We R.O.A.R!
