Clarke Central has a rich tradition of excellence in academics and athletics. This tradition of excellence begins with our talented students and staff and is enhanced by  ongoing community support. The Washington Post ranked Clarke Central as one of the top 6% of high schools in the nation. In addition, Clarke Central was redesignated as a Breakthrough School by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 2017 and was named 1 of 20 Schools of Opportunity nationwide in 2016. Our Odyssey newsmagazine and the Iliad literary-art magazine have received top awards from Georgia Scholastic Press Association - including being named the top student newsmagazine for several consecutive years. We offer nearly 20 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and are an authorized school for the the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (Grades 6-10). Also, our athletic program continues to produce great student athletes and successful seasons.

Clarke Central high school is dedicated to ensuring that all students receive rigorous instruction in all classes, and all teachers collaboratively plan to improve student achievement and to build positive relationships. We are committed to creating an environment that is safe and academically focused. It is our desire that all of our stakeholders will commit to continuous improvement of Clarke Central. There are many ways for our parents and community members to get involved by becoming active members of the PTSO and by volunteering.
