  • KSU Summer Workshop | The Museum of History and Holocaust Education

    Kennesaw State University is excited to open the application for the annual Summer Workshop on Holocaust Studies for high school students! 

    This 4-day online program running from June 26 - 29, 2023 is FREE for high school students. It is a great opportunity for students who have an interested in the Holocaust, civil rights, human rights, and education to delve deeper and hone their leadership and communication skills while building their resumes for college applications. You will connect with students around Georgia and hear a Holocaust survivor speak. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about history!

  • CCSD Family Fun Day | Seeking Student Businesses!

    Students: Do you have a creative business? Come to the CCSD Family Fun Day! 

    Family Fun Day is an event with food, games, entertainment, music, and resources available for families in our community. Last year's Family Fun Day attracted over 400 people! This year, CCSD students are invited to sell products they create at the event! 

    Event details: 

    Family Fun Day 
    Bishop Park 
    705 Sunset Drive, Athens, GA 30606

    Saturday, April 22 

    1:00 pm - 4:30 pm 

    Rules and Requirements: 

    • You must be a CCSD student 
    • Your product must be an original creation 
    • Participants must have transportation to and from Bishop park 
    • Participants must attend mandatory training at Clarke Central High School on April 14th from 4:15 - 5:15 pm 

    If you're interested, fill out this application by April 9th at midnight. If your business is selected, you will be notified on April 11. 5 - 10 students will be selected.

  • LSGT Innovation | Performance & Visual Arts Event

    LSGT Performance Festival: Now seeking student artists!

    Classic City is calling student representatives for a performing and visual arts community event

    Showcase your art, talent, or performance abilities! The Clarke County School District LSGT is sponsoring a student-focused event for the local community. There will be catered food services, a performing arts showcase, and a visual art gallery. Come represent Classic City High School!

    If you feel that you are interested in performing arts, visual arts, or general innovation, please fill out this form or talk with Mrs. McCarley in the front office. 
     

    LSGT, or Local Student Governance Team, is a team of teachers, students, and community members that are interested in improving the school. They advocate, make decisions, and make recommendations for Classic City. For more information, visit the LSGT section of the CCHS website

    Ms. Tommasi and Mrs. Taylor, CCHS teachers, are sponsoring a student-led podcast. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to either of these teachers. 

    We are also looking for community donors! Please visit this link to donate towards instructional technology which will allow students to learn new tech, apply new skills, and hold themselves accountable to innovation.

  • Athens Peer Court - Volunteer Opportunity

    Interested in court law? Athens Peer Court is now accepting applications!

    Athens Peer Court is a volunteer leadership program in which you will be the lawyers, judge, bailiff, and jury in hearings for real cases in Athens. 

    Any student in 8th to 12th grade is welcome! If you would like to learn more or join, please email Jason.Estep@fanning.uga.edu, call (706) 542 - 2431, or visit this website

    You will be able to develop leadership skills, as well as practice public speaking, writing, and setting goals. Plus, it looks great on a college application! 

    Interested students should be able to attend the training meetings
