H.B. Stroud LSGT

  • The H.B. Stroud Local School Governance Team (LSGT) is made up of committed school advocates: the school principal, 3 staff members, 3 parents and 3 community members. Teams can also add one or two at-large members. Team members work together to boost student achievement and have input into critical decisions including the school growth plan and budget.

The LSGT is led by the principal and team co-chair, a parent or community member. The H.B. Stroud LSGT generally meets on the third Wednesday of each month. The meetings are open and all are welcome to attend.

Please contact a co-chair for more information about the LSGT, future meetings or how you can get more involved.

The Hand that Rocks the Cradle to Pre-K LSGT Grant

  • In 2018, the Clarke County School District set aside grant funds to distribute to LSGTs to create innovative programs that build the capacity of schools and communities to support the achievement, success, and well-being of children in alignment of one or more of the District's focus areas of literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development.

    Grant Budget: $11,275

HB Stroud’s innovation will focus on the literacy of their students. The program will promote literacy from birth to Pre-K. The 2nd edition of Every Child Ready to Read curriculum is used to incorporate simple practices to help parents and caregivers develop early literacy skills. Workshops will be held in order to demonstrate to parents, grandparents, providers, and preschool teachers how to use talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing in order to develop language and “pre-reading skills."
