Clarke Middle LSGT
The Clarke Middle Local School Governance Team (LSGT) is a group of eleven (11) active school advocates that includes administrators, teachers, students, parents/guardians, and community members. The LSGT focuses on making decisions and recommendations that are in the best interest of students, families and communities. The LSGT focuses on School Improvement Planning; Curriculum & Instruction; School Operations; Personnel; and School Budget.
The LSGT is co-led by the Principal and an elected parent or community member. The LSGT holds nine (9) open meetings throughout the year, and encourages public participation. Please contact a Co-Chair to find out about information about the LSGT, future meetings, or how you can get more involved.
Targeted Trauma-Sensitive Support (TTSS) LSGT Grant
In 2018, the Clarke County School District set aside grant funds to distribute to LSGTs to create innovative programs that build the capacity of schools and communities to support the achievement, success, and well-being of children in alignment of one or more of the District's focus areas of literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development.
Grant Budget: $28,640
Clarke Middle will be focusing on student social-emotional development. This will be primarily achieved by hiring a System of Care Coordinator (SCC) that will serve a select group of students (15-20) that struggle with school engagement and success. The SCC will work with community agencies to address the specific needs of the student and provide individualized services. The SCC will “run groups” focusing on mental health and wellness for students and families. The projected outcomes of program success are healthy connections to schools, school success, more time spent in class, mental health support, continued community engagement. These outcomes also impact numeracy and literacy goals.
