STUDENT DISCIPLINE IN THE CLARKE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
Dr. Richard Welsh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy in the College of Education at the University of Georgia and has served as a district research Professor in Residence during the 2018-19 school year. He has conducted a longitudinal mixed-method research study to study our district’s trends in discipline from the 2014 school year through the 2018 school year. He presented his preliminary findings to the Board of Education at the May 2, 2019, Work Session. His findings are informative and his policy and practice recommendations will guide many of our district decisions going forward.
