In order for your student's breakfast and lunch to be considered reimbursable, they must select a fruit at breakfast and a fruit or vegetable at lunch.  Often, our students do not have money on their accounts or in their pockets to pay for a la carte items, so cashiers encourage them to select a menu item from the serving line to ensure their meal meets reimbursable meal guidelines.
