We believe that offering a variety of options in our meal program is important, and we apply that belief to milk choices too. Milk is not only nutrient-dense, but the nutrients that one gets from milk are also particulary important for our school-age children. We work closely with our milk vendor to purchase the most low-sugar versions of flavored milk available, but if a child will only drink chocolate milk, then we believe it is important to offer chocolate, so that your child gets a good dose of protein, calcium, and vitamin D with their school meal.
