BOE Member Kirrena Gallagher Announces Resignation

At the Thursday, Dec. 15, meeting of the Clarke County Board of Education, District 2 board member Kirrena Gallagher announced her resignation from the board, effective Dec. 19, in order to run for the recently vacated District 2 Athens-Clarke County Commission seat. 

Ms. Gallagher has served on the board, representing District 2, since January 2021 following her election to the seat in 2020. Her term ends Dec. 31, 2024. 

The vacancy will be filled by the board pursuant to state law. Qualified residents residing in BOE District 2 and desiring to serve on the board for the remainder of the term through Dec. 31, 2024, are invited to submit a letter of interest, biographical sketch or resume, and up to two signed letters of support to:
