CCSD Office of Family and Community Engagement to Host ‘FESCON’ this May
The Clarke County School District's Office of Family and Community Engagement is proud to announce FESCON, a conference celebrating the important work of family and community engagement. The event will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Classic Center, 300 North Thomas St., Athens.
FESCON will feature dynamic keynote speakers, informative workshops, and engaging panel discussions designed to inspire, educate, and empower attendees. The conference will provide a unique opportunity for educators, community partners, and other stakeholders to come together and share their experiences, challenges, and successes in promoting family and community engagement.
"We are thrilled to host FESCON and to provide a platform for sharing innovative ideas, strategies, and best practices in family and community engagement," said Soraia Santos Felgenhauer, CCSD’s Director of Family and Community Engagement. "We believe that when families, schools, and communities work together, we can create powerful partnerships that support student success and enhance the overall well-being of our communities."
The conference will feature a wide range of topics, including family engagement in early childhood education, community outreach and partnership building, effective communication strategies, and ways to increase family involvement in school decision-making.
"We are committed to promoting family and community engagement as a critical component of student success," said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Robbie Hooker. "FESCON is an important opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of families and communities to our schools and to learn from each other's experiences and perspectives."
FESCON is open to all educators, community partners, and other stakeholders interested in Family and Community Engagement. Registration is now open at this link.
