The first day of the 2023-24 school year is Wednesday, Aug. 2, and the Clarke County School District encourages parents/guardians of new students (grades PK-12) and any students returning to CCSD from another district to register their child now so that they will be ready for the first day of school.

Summer Hours

Starting Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, July 14, the CCSD Student Registration Center, located in the District Office at 595 Prince Ave., Athens, will operate under the following modified summer hours:

• Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• extended hours on Tuesdays (June 6, June 13, June 20, June 27, July 11) – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Fridays (June 2, June 23, July 7): 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Please note that all CCSD offices will be closed on the following dates during this period:

• Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)
• Friday, June 9
• Friday, June 16
• Monday, June 19 (Juneteenth)
• Friday, June 30
• Tuesday, July 4 (Independence Day)
• Friday, July 14

Regular Student Registration Center hours (Monday-Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) will resume on Monday, July 17.

A special Saturday registration event will be held at the District Office on Saturday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Click here for more information.

What do I need to register my child?

Registration is a two-step process. First, complete the online registration application, available in English and Spanish. (To access the application on the registration page, click on the dropdown menu, “To Register a Student (Pre-K through 12th Grade),” and click on the “Registration Application” link.) Be sure to select "2023-2024 School Year." You may complete the application on-site at the District Office if you need assistance.

Second, bring the following with you to the District Office to complete the registration process:

• the student's birth certificate
• the student's Social Security card (This requirement may be waived if you object to the information being included in the student's records or if your child is not a U.S. citizen)
• the student's immunization records on Georgia Form 3231 (If your child's immunization record is from a different state, you'll need to take it to the Clarke County Health Department, 345 North Harris St., Athens, to have it transferred to the Georgia immunization Registry. There is a $10 charge at the Health Department to transfer immunization records.)
• parent/guardian's photo ID
• two documents, showing proof of residence, in the parent's/guardian's name (If you live with someone else, the person who owns or rents the property must be present during the registration process and provide residency documents and their photo ID.) Accepted proofs of residence include any two of the following. PLEASE NOTE: CCSD only accepts the documents listed here. Before you come to register, double-check that your documents appear on the list and include all required information to avoid delays in registering your child.
  • water bill
  • power bill
  • gas bill
  • pest control bill
  • cable bill
  • internet bill
  • trash bill
  • current lease, rent statement, or mortgage statement (If you have moved in the last 30 days and do not have a utility bill, we will accept a new lease or closing document without a utility bill.)
  • Both documents must show all of the following:
    • address of resident
    • a billing or statement date within the last 30 days
    • name of a parent or person the child lives with (must be present with ID to register student).
• Proof of guardianship – only required if the child is adopted, in foster care, or living with someone other than the parent(s) listed on the birth certificate.

El primer día del año escolar 2023-24 será el miércoles 2 de agosto y el Distrito Escolar del Condado Clarke alienta a los padres, madres y tutores de estudiantes que vienen por primera vez (en grados K a 12) y los que vienen de vuelta de otro distrito a CCSD a registrar su estudiante ahora para estar listos para el primer día de la escuela.

Horario de verano

A partir del martes 30 de mayo hasta el viernes 14 de julio, el Centro de Registro Estudiantil de CCSD, que se ubica en la Oficina Distrital a 595 Prince Ave., Athens, operará bajo el siguiente horario modificado para el verano:

• Lunes, miércoles y jueves – 8 a.m. a 5 p.m.
• Horario extendido los días martes (6 de junio, 13 de junio, 20 de junio, 27 de junio y 11 de julio) – 9 a.m. a 7 p.m.
• Viernes (2 de junio, 23 de junio, 7 de julio): 8 a.m. a 5 p.m.

Note que todas las oficinas de CCSD permanecerán cerradas los siguientes días durante esta etapa:

Se realizará un evento especial de registración de sábado en la Oficina Distrital el sábado 22 de julio de 9 a.m. a 1 p.m. Estén atentos al sitio web de CCSD y a la página de Facebook para obtener más información sobre ese evento.

¿Qué necesito para registrar a mi estudiante?

El proceso de registración tiene dos pasos. Primero, hay que completar la solicitud de registración en línea que está disponible en inglés y español. (Para acceder a la solicitud desde la página de registración, haga clic en el menú expandible “Para registrar a un estudiante (Pre-K a 12o grado)” y haga clic en el primer enlace, “Solicitud de Registro.”) Seleccione "2023-2024 School Year" para el año escolar 2023-24. • El registro de vacunación de su estudiante en el Formulario 3231 de Georgia. (Si el registro de vacunación de su estudiante es de otro estado o del exterior, debe llevarlo primero al Departamento de Salud del Condado Clarke a 345 North Harris St., Athens, para que se lo entren en el registro de vacunación de Georgia. El Departamento de Salud carga $10 para hacer esta transferencia.)
• Identificación con foto de un padre, madre o tutor
• Dos (2) documentos de prueba de residencia en nombre de un padre, madre o tutor. (Si vive con otras personas, debe estar presente la persona nombrada en el contrato o la factura para el proceso de registración para proporcionar los documentos de residencia y su identificación con foto.) Se requiere dos de los siguientes documentos aceptados.

NOTA: El distrito solo acepta los documentos listados aquí. Antes de venir para registrar, chequear con cuidado que sus documentos aparecen en la lista e incluyen toda la información requerida para evitar demoras en registrar su estudiante.

  • Los dos documentos tienen que contener todo de lo siguiente:
    • Dirección de residencia
    • Una fecha de factura entre los últimos 30 días
    • El nombre de un padre, madre o tutor u otra persona con quien vive el estudiante (debe estar presente con identificación con foto para registrar el estudiante).
• Prueba de Tutela - Sólo requerida si el estudiante es adoptado, está en cuidado de crianza o a cargo de una persona no está listada en el acto de nacimiento del estudiante.
