Congratulations to Ms. Carla Williams, a kindergarten teacher at Cleveland Road Elementary School, for being selected as the November "Employee of the Month!"

The “Employee of the Month” program recognizes and rewards CCSD staff members for their service and dedication to the students and families. Parents/Guardians, staff, students, and community members can nominate any employee. Each month during the school year, the selection committee will award a winner.

Thank you to the Foundation for Excellence in Education (Athens) and local businesses (in partnership with the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce) for endowing the awards.

“Ms. Carla Williams goes above and beyond when it comes to her students. Without a doubt, she is the kindest, most caring person that I have encountered thus far in the Clarke County School District. My daughter was lucky to have her as a teacher. There are multiple times that I have seen her demonstrate her kindness and love toward her students. One example sticks out the most -- she hand-delivered gifts baskets to every single one of her students just after the pandemic hit. My daughter saw her, and I had to hold her back from running out to hug her! My husband and I appreciated Ms. Williams’ patience and kindness when we had questions and concerns. My daughter still tells me how much she misses Ms. Williams. She should serve as an example for all other teachers.” ~ CRES Parent

"When asked to write a short statement about Ms. Carla Williams, I immediately knew it would be a difficult task! If I had to use a phrase to describe her, it would be 'servant leader' -- she consistently puts others before herself. She does everything in her power to support students, colleagues, and families and continuously seeks community partners to support our work at Cleveland Road. Along with her role as a classroom teacher, Ms. Williams serves on the PTO, School Improvement Team, and is a member of the LSGT. She is respected by her peers and loved by her students!
