We appreciate the work and commitment displayed over the last couple of years towards addressing the issue of equity and disproportionate achievement within the Clarke County School District. As we move forward in our commitment to addressing these issues, we want to ensure that we are intentional in our efforts. The thought-provoking activities of the district equity ambassadors, such as book studies, self-awareness work, and videos, have helped establish the foundation for our next steps. In order to enact meaningful change for our students and community, we must look to our next steps. Our strategic plan is based on a foundation of equity, and we must identify action steps, policies, and protocols that address biased practices that hinder our growth. The essential question that lies before us is: how does our work inform our practice? We have developed a survey to gauge your thoughts, ideas, and experience around Equity in CCSD.
