CCSD STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL FIVE-DAYS-A-WEEK ON APRIL 12
TO: All CCSD Families and Staff
FROM: Brannon Gaskins, Chief Academic Officer
SUBJECT: Return to 5 Day Instruction on April 12
DATE: March 25, 2021
Earlier this week, it was announced that the Clarke County School District would return to 5-day in-person instruction following Spring Break on April 12, 2021. Some families and staff have asked for clarification regarding a few aspects of this return, and I believe it will be helpful to address some of the more common inquiries in this memorandum.
Please note:
- All CCSD administrators, teachers, and staff will report to their school/department 5 days/week, beginning on April 12.
- Full-time Virtual Learning remains an option for all students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
- High School students who elected to attend face-to-face instruction this semester have the option to change to a Virtual Learning option for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. This information should be communicated as soon as possible to your school administration.
- Students who elected Virtual Learning this semester do not have the option to change to face-to-face instruction for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. This was outlined to families earlier in the semester during the selection process.
- All Athens Community Career Academy (ACCA) students will remain on a Virtual Learning schedule for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. ACCA staff will be available to supervise part-time ACCA students at their home schools.
- As previously noted, After School Programs (ASP) will not be offered for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.
I hope this clears up any uncertainties you may have had regarding the district’s return to full-time, face-to-face instruction following Spring Break.
Should you have additional questions, please contact your child’s school for more information.
