Letter from Ms. Neal, 7/20/2021

July 20, 2021

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The Chase Street Staff is excited to welcome all students back in the building for the 2021-22 school year. We will return to in-person, face-to-face, regular instruction on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. As we prepare to return to the building, teachers are planning engaging lessons that are academically challenging and will support students' social emotional needs. Our goal is to create an environment in which students develop a love for learning.

Although we are returning to the building, we will follow the most recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH). In an effort to remain cautious and continue monitoring COVID-19, CCSD will start the school year with the following guidelines:

  • All students in early learning through 6th grade are required to wear a mask.
  • Masks are required on buses.
  • All staff are required to wear masks

We will continue to monitor and make changes as needed. We have been cleared to offer After-School Programming (ASP) to families. You will get additional information about ASP at our Open House.

Chase Street will have our Open House on Monday, August, 2, 2021 from 3:00-6:00pm.  Due to limited parking, we will utilize the following schedule:

  • 3:00-4:00pm New Families Orientation for new families to the building (all grade levels) - meet in the Cafeteria
  • 4:00-5:00pm Returning Families whose student’s last name begins with A-K - Meet the Teacher
  • 5:00-6:00pm  Returning Families whose student's last name begins with L-Z - Meet the Teacher

We look forward to seeing all of our families at Open House. Open House is a great opportunity for the students to meet their teachers and see their classmates, but it’s also an opportunity to sign up for ASP, pick up your car rider tags and sign up for PTO.  All visitors are required to wear a mask during Open House.

While on campus, you will notice that we added three additional classrooms which is allowing us to have smaller class sizes. We are excited about this opportunity to have smaller class sizes but due to the size of our building, we were not able to keep all the grade levels on the same hallway.  We thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

We look forward to working with you to make 2021-22 the best school year possible for your child(ren).
