
Academic Team
Academic Bowl is a scholastic competition for high school students. Teams from participating schools in Barrow, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties compete against each other in a series of matches before the top teams advance to the championship tournament. Questions in Academic Bowl matches cover subject matter from Georgia's high school curriculum (language arts, science, math, and social studies) as well as current events.

Accounting Club

Aeronautics Club
The Clarke Central Aeronautics Administration primarily focuses on designing, launching, and flying model rockets, model planes, drones, and any other airborne projects we decide to build. The main goal of the CCAA is to build interest in 3D design and printing, physics, electronics, engineering, and of course, space. The club meets on Thursdays @3:45 to plan launches and design aircraft. Whether you're trying to spice up a GATech application, flex your mechanical engineering abilities, or just think the idea of launching rockets is fun, this club is the place for you!

Bellas (Girls Empowerment Club)
Bellas is a dynamic and empowering group of girls brought together by a shared passion for friendship, creativity, personal growth, and supporting each other. Card Club
The Card Club exists as a platform for any and all students who wish to play card games casually or competitively. Most games are playable with a standard 52-card deck, however, there are certainly exceptions for almost any card game imaginable. Whether you hope to train the mind while pondering your next great move in a game like Bridge or hope to reach new heights with your rapid reflexes in a fast-paced match of Speed, Card Club has at least one game to offer everyone from full-time enthusiasts to fresh-faced beginners!

Collage & Craft Club
Collage & Craft Club is for students who want to learn techniques like collaging, knitting, beadwork, crochet, basic leatherwork, cross stitch and jewelry making, among others. Meetings will be held after school until 4:30 pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month in room 232 starting September 19th. Students interested in learning how to create things, but without time in their schedule to take sculpture or other art classes, are encouraged to join. The club will work towards selling their crafts in a Valentine's Day fundraiser for club supplies, and to offer small, affordable gifts for Clarke Central students to buy for their friends and relationship partners.

The Community Service Club provides students with opportunities for volunteering in the community. Entomology Club
Welcome to the official Clarke Central High School Arthropod Club. This club will be located in room 175 in Mr Pulliam's classroom. In this club, we will be focusing on the study and hobby of keeping arthropods. We will be creating substrate, learning to keep our own terrariums, and cultures. As well as collecting our own specimens, we focus on ALL arthropods. From insects to isopods to crustaceans, and yes, even udeonychophora if you were wondering! We will meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays after school at 3:45 PM. So please join us as we progress through the study of arthropods.

Future Business Leaders of America helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. In 2023, the club won Silver Chapter of the Year, and in 2024 they won Gold Chapter of the year. CCHS's FBLA is reaching for new heights and better opportunities for students. Fiber Friends (Crochet Club)
Learn to crochet and/or knit and have fun creating projects together. Some examples of projects include scarves, blankets, stuffed animals, yarn art, hats, headbands, bookmarks, clothes. You can make them to keep for yourself or to donate to the community. Bring your choice of yarn or pick from our shared batch. Are you a young Tarantino or Spike Lee? Join the Film Club. Film Club is designed for students who have a passion for movies. The club watches, discusses, dissects, and even makes their own short films. Students learn how to write screen plays, create storyboards, set design, edit, and produce movies. The club's goal is to enter student short films in film festivals.

The Clarke Central French Club celebrates French and French-speaking countries' culture by engaging in activities that we often don’t have time to in class. Some of our activities include watching French movies, eating French food, listening to French music, having fondue parties, doing service activities, fundraising, and even planning TRIPS TO FRANCE! GMA is a student-led organization guided by faculty sponsors to improve the academic and social opportunities of minority students at Clarke Central High School. Iliad Literary-Art Magazine
The Iliad is Clarke Central’s award-winning literary-art magazine, which gives voice to CCHS’s writers of poetry, prose, and plays, as well as provides a forum for photographers, artists, and graphic designers.
The Iliad is published once a year and comes out each spring. Under the guidance of a faculty adviser, the Editor-in-Chief along with a leadership team meets weekly to edit and workshop the pieces that are compiled for publication. JROTC Drill Team & Competitive Color Guard
The CCHS JROTC Drill Team is a marching unit that performs routines based on military drill. Cadets can perform either armed or unarmed drill during competitive drill competitions. The competitive Color Guard is an extracurricular Army JROTC team responsible for presenting the flag in a variety of settings. The members of the Color Guard practice drill and ceremonies, proper wearing of the uniform as well as the proper ways to show respect to our nation's flag. Competitive seasons are Dec-March.

JROTC Raider Team
Raider Competitions or “Raider” as it is more commonly known as a very popular athletic competition held within JROTC Programs around the United States. Students MUST be currently enrolled in the JROTC class and have a valid athletic physical to compete. Rules/competitive events can vary depending on the hosting schools' facilities, but Raider Competitions are designed for a small group of physically fit and mentally tough cadets to compete in various outdoor activities. Competitive season is August - November.

Junior Classical Club (Latin Club)
The Junior Classical League encourages interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. Students challenge themselves academically, socialize, play games, and participate in celebrations. .

Minds Matter Club
The mission of this club is to help give students at CCHS opportunities and resources to get mental health help. We will work with existing organizations throughout Georgia and host fundraisers and spread awareness. We'll hold meetings every other week on Wednesdays after school to discuss plans for events (meetings aren't required for members). The money from fundraising will go to different mental health organizations in Athens as well as fund mental health education at CCHS.

Mock Trial Team
The CCHS Mock Trial Team is open to all students at CCHS regardless of experience. The only requirement we have is that each student has a tryout. The team has been in existence for over 26 years and has shown to improve the writing and public speaking skills of students through a fun atmosphere of a Mock Trial case assignment. Learn more here.

National Art Honor Society
The purpose of NAHS is to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art.
Interested students must have an 80 cumulative average in their classes, have completed or be enrolled in at least one semester of art or graphic design, and maintain a minimum of an 85 average in their visual arts and/or graphic design classes. National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationally recognized organization that promotes and celebrates academics, leadership, and character in students. The Clarke Central chapter is open to juniors and seniors with a 93.0 GPA. NHS sponsors will send eligible students an invitation to apply. Once accepted, members are expected to attend meetings regularly and complete 60 hours of community service every year that they are in NHS.

Odyssey Media Group
The ODYSSEY Media Group is Clarke Central’s award-winning news source - newsmagazine, website, broadcast and social media. The OMG covers school, local and national news, as well as local entertainment, sports, and opinion. As an open public forum, the Odyssey aspires to give voice to the CCHS community -- guest pieces are welcome. The class meets four days a week, has weekend workdays each month and also works after school to produce and refine content. Puppetry Guild
The purpose of the Clarke Central Puppetry Guild is to explore world puppetry, puppet construction, playwriting and performance skills. Students will research, develop, build and produce their own puppets and puppet shows.
Content of meetings:
Introduction to puppetry around the world including types of puppets: marionettes, shadow puppets, hand puppets, rod puppets, body puppets, objects, and animatronics
Student input to choose what type of puppets and characters to build
As puppets are being built, students will brainstorm storylines for future scripting.
Most of the meetings will be taken up with puppet building.
Exploration of possible public performances, video performances, or performances within the guild

Red Cross Club
The Clarke Central Red Cross Club is dedicated to helping support the local community through the Red Cross of Northeast Georgia. We cooperate with the Red Cross in order to organize blood drives, bake sales, and other fundraising events. Anyone can be a member and upperclassmen who are interested in a leadership position can apply in the second semester.

Tri-M is the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME) music honor society.
