Announcement: Birthday Shout-Out Opportunity
Attention Students,
We are excited to offer a fun way for you and your families to celebrate birthdays while helping raise funds for our senior celebrations! You can now purchase birthday announcements to be featured in the school newsletter. This opportunity is available for both students and staff only.
Here are the options available:
1. Shout-Out Ad: A simple message like "Happy Birthday, John Doe! We love you! - [Family Name]" for only $2.
2. Photo Ad: A message with a photo, such as "Happy Birthday, John Doe! We love you! - Your Family" for $5.
The money raised from these ads will go towards funding senior activities, including Senior Week, Senior Dinner, Senior Breakfast, and more.
We can include up to six ads at the beginning of the month and six at the end, depending on demand. So, if you're interested, be sure to let your family know and take advantage of this special opportunity!
Thank you for your support!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you well. We are reaching out to share two important opportunities for you to get involved in the decision-making processes that impact our schools and community. Your voice and participation are invaluable as we work together to support our students and their educational experience.
1. PARENT ADVISORY BOARD. CCSD is reconstituting the Parent Advisory Board (PAB) this year and needs your input. PAB is different from LSGTs because it focuses on issues that affect all schools in CCSD rather than individual schools. Members are asked to attend four (4) meetings a year with each meeting lasting approximately 1.5 hours. If you are interested, please submit your name to Jessie Draper, draperj@clarke.k12.ga.us.
2. LSGT. The Local School Governance Team (LSGTeam) is a group of active school advocates who focus on making decisions and recommendations that are in the best interest of students, families, and communities. The LSGTeam focuses on School Improvement Planning; Curriculum & Instruction; School Operations; Personnel; and School Budget. The LSGTeam is co-led by the Principal and a parent or community member. The LSGTeam holds 6-12 open meetings throughout the year and the public is welcome to attend. Each LSGTeam is made up of the School Principal, 3 elected Teachers/Staff members, 3 elected Parents/Guardians, and 3 Community Members selected by the LSGTeam members. A student member serves on middle and high school teams. Each team elects a non-CCSD Co-Chair and a Secretary from among its members. All meetings are open to the public. It's time once again to nominate a CCSD Employee of the Month! The Employee of the Month program recognizes and rewards staff members for their service and dedication to the students and families of the Clarke County School District. Each month (September through May), a CCSD employee is chosen for the award, surprised at their school or building, and invited to the monthly Board of Education meeting for recognition.
Any member of the CCSD community (student, parent/guardian, staff member, community member) may nominate any full-time district employee with at least one full year of service. Nominations for September Employee of the Month are now open! Go to bit.ly/CCEmployeeAward to get started!
