We’re thrilled to announce the Owl Flight Fun Run kicked off with grade-level lunch rallies today. Our students are excited and energized, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact of their efforts!
The Fun Run is powered by MyBooster.com where adults can register their youth and create a personalized fundraising page that’s easily shared with friends and family via email, text, or social media. Supporters can make a flat donation amount to a student, pledge a specific amount per lap for a student(s), or make a general donation to the school.
In the two weeks leading up to the event, we’ll share updates and fun fundraising challenges for individuals, classes, and grade levels—all aimed at helping us reach our $26,000 goal. Challenge rewards might include pajama day, music at lunch, pizza parties, or book fair credits.
The fundraiser will conclude with the Owl Flight Fun Run event on Friday, October 30, a high-energy community celebration where all students—regardless of registration or fundraising—are invited to run, walk, or dance around the track with their classmates. Laps will be tracked by volunteers to ensure accurate pledge fulfillment. Pledges are collected immediately following the event. The funds raised go directly to CMS teacher mini-grants, supporting classroom needs and creative learning experiences.

The Owl Flight Fun Run provides money for equipment that doesn’t fit into school funding models – like a way to display student art (video). The seventh-grade team is asking you to support the fun run this year so that they can buy cork strips for the hallway.

It's time once again to nominate a CCSD Employee of the Month! The Employee of the Month program recognizes and rewards staff members for their service and dedication to the students and families of the Clarke County School District. Each month (September through May), a CCSD employee is chosen for the award, surprised at their school or building, and invited to the monthly Board of Education meeting for recognition.
Any member of the CCSD community (student, parent/guardian, staff member, community member) may nominate any full-time district employee with at least one full year of service. Nominations for September Employee of the Month are now open! Go to bit.ly/CCEmployeeAward to get started!
It's time for year two of CCSD's regional AdaptED Sports Program! The Classic City Dawgs will start adapted handball on Aug. 11. Participation is completely free for any public or private school students in grades 1-12 in Clarke, Oconee, Jackson, Madison, Barrow, and Oglethorpe counties who have a qualifying disability.
Wheelchair handball is a GHSA-sanctioned co-ed sport. All athletes compete in wheelchairs regardless of whether they use a wheelchair in everyday life. Wheelchairs are provided by CCSD at no cost to students and families.
