Teacher and student high-five

The Clarke County School District’s Human Resources Division this week will host a hiring event for special education teacher and paraprofessional positions that are open for the 2026-27 school year.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the District Office, 595 Prince Ave., Athens. It is intended for current SPED teachers and paraprofessionals in other districts who are interested in relocating to CCSD, recent college graduates looking for their first teaching position or full-time job in an educational setting, or anyone interested in pursuing a career in the classroom as a SPED educator.

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with district and school leaders about working in CCSD schools, learn about current and anticipated openings for the coming school year, ask questions about certifications, residency programs, and other district support available to them, and potentially receive a contingent contract offer for 2026-27.

Candidates should bring their resumé with them.

Interested candidates should register in advance at bit.ly/CCSDHiringEventJune4 and can view a list of current openings at ccsdjobs.org
