Barnett Shoals Library Program: 

Choose a Summer Reading Program below, or design your own using this generic reading log. Set goals, encourage your child, read with them! Learn more at the bottom of this page about the importance of summer reading and how you can do it!

Bring any completed 2024 summer reading log to the Library before August 12th. Only students who read over the summer and complete any log will be invited to a magical event.  SO SAVE your LOGS and show them to Mr. Webber!

Programs:   

  Athens Public Library  Get your reading log and get a free book.  Return for ongoing prizes.   Play Homebase    From May 9^th through September 12^th, kids can visit the summer zone in Scholastic Home Base, a completely free digital destination which offers stories, characters, games, and a community of readers. Home Base is moderated for safety 24/7.  Parents Info Page, Help your kids set up an account. Download the game to most devices for the best experience.

  Barnes and Noble Summer Reading   For All Ages!  Join your kids and be a role model.  Scroll down their page to find the kids info.  Download reading log. Read 8 books and B&N will give you a free book.

 PlayCard   Every CCSD student has a free Public Library PlayCard to checkout books and access eReadKids and Audiobooks in Libby. (Login Info)  

Sora eBooks   is our eBooks, Choose Clarke County Schools & Use your school google login username and password.   

+    Sora Sweet Reads for Summer has Popular eBooks selected just for you!  Use your PlayCard to check one out on your device.  

Our Destiny Discover Catalog has eBooks you can read online or download.  Use your school google login username and password. 

 Unite for Literacy: Abundance of eBooks  A nice collection, and includes libros electronics in español!  

 PebbleGo     Kids know!  PebbleGo has some eBooks along with their fantastic non-fiction articles!  

Athens Public Library    Visit any branch and checkout books with your PlayCard.  Can't get over there? --> All you need is internet access and a device to download eBooks, Audiobooks and more. 

YouTube    There are lots of books on YouTube!  Read along with the book or listen to great stories read to you.  Mr. Webber Recommends  Storytime at Awnie's House  & StoryLine Online .

Reading Lists:

Mr. Webber highly recommends Reading For Fun!  Research shows that kids will most likely read and enjoy books they choose themselves.   Mr. Webber also encourages reading anything, including billboards and signs when you're driving around.  Watch YouTubers, but read the comments and you'll learn even more. The lists below are recommended by our librarian, Mr. Webber.
