• Responsibility

Responsibility is about having the personal character and ability to thoughtfully make and reliably keep promises to ourselves, others, and our community. Accepting responsibility involves having the confidence and courage to do what is necessary and right, building trust, and not easily giving up--especially when facing difficult choices and demanding situations.  All of this requires self-management.

Self-management is the ability to successfully be aware of and in control of our emotionsthoughts, and behaviors in different situations. Being able to understand and control how we feel, think, and behave is achieved by effectively managing stress, controlling our impulses, and motivating ourselves to do what we ought to do. It is the ability to set and work toward goals without completely giving up even when we fall short of our goals or make mistakes.
