CCSD offers a Dual Language Immersion Program in Spanish for zoned students at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School in grades PK-5. As early as pre-K, students zoned for OAES can enroll in the program and receive half of their daily instruction in English and the other in Spanish.
Students who go through the program in elementary school can continue it at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School through eighth grade and eventually be able to take AP Spanish classes earlier in high school and receive the Seal of Biliteracy from the Georgia Department of Education.
The DLI enrollment period at OAES for the 2025-26 school year is NOW OPEN! The application and more information can be found at www.clarke.k12.ga.us/dli. The video below highlights the program and takes a look at how our elementary and middle school students enrolled in it are thriving and benefitting from a bilingual education.
