✨We are so excited for the annual Barnett Shoals Fun Run!!!! 🏃🏾🎽👟 And we are JUST 9 DAYS AWAY from the fun!

📅 On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH, scholars will run/walk laps on the field at school. Scholars will raise money for their participation from family, friends, and neighbors. The money raised will support educational enrichment projects, field trips, teacher appreciation, and support our athletic teams. Each grade level will participate during their regular specials time during the school day.

🏃🏾🎽 Share the LINK ⬇️ below with family, friends, and neighbors. Scholars will earn incentives for raising money for our school, and the class who raises the most money will win a pizza party! 🍕

✋🏾 Want to volunteer? Sign up at the LINK ⬇️ below to join us! We need help counting laps, working the water stop, and handing out popsicles!

✅ Our goal is to raise $13,000 - it's a big goal, but we can do it TOGETHER!

Get ready to be inspired! TEDxCCSD Youth: "Raising the Bar" features student voices sharing big ideas and powerful stories.

What happens when students are given the space to think deeply, speak boldly, and share ideas that matter?

TEDxCCSD Youth: Raising the Bar is the answer!

We are thrilled that on May 9th, our very own scholar, Leah Hussain, will take the BIG stage at TEDxCCSDYouth! This is an incredible opportunity, and we would like for our Barnett Shoals community to come out and support Leah!

All guests are encouraged to register for this FREE event through Eventbrite using the link: bit.ly/CCSDYouth26

The event will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 11AM- 2PM at the CCSD Board Office.

Celebrating CCSD's Support Professional of the Year (with video!)
As an Athens native and CCSD graduate, Brian Smith sees himself in many of the students he works with and uses his perspective to improve the overall student experience in our district. As a behavior interventionist at Barnett Shoals Elementary School, Mr. Smith is known as a positive, uplifting role model who makes everyone smile and works tirelessly to foster a safe learning environment for all students and staff. He builds strong relationships with students and provides them with the support they need to make good choices and become future leaders in the community. CCSD is proud to present this celebration video of our 2025-26 Support Professional of the Year.
