Tomorrow, September 17, we will be participating in a second round of Dining for Dividends - a day during which 19 restaurants in our community will donate a percentage of their sales to Gifted Savings at CCSD!
We are so proud to celebrate Ms. Erica Taylor as our 2026 Support Person of the Year!
Ms. Erica walks our hallways every day, keeping OAES beautiful, organized, and cared for. But she does so much more than take care of our building. She notices the little things. She takes the time to make people feel seen. And somehow, she has a way of making our school feel a little more like home.
Just look at her cart. It is covered with thank-you letters, drawings, and little reminders of just how much our students love her. These are from Wildcats who can’t imagine their school day without Ms. Erica in it.
And when some of our OAES graduates heard that Ms. Erica had been named SPOTY, their faces lit up with immediate recognition. They knew exactly who she was and exactly why she deserved it.
Congratulations, Ms. Erica! OAES is a better place because you are here, and we are so happy to celebrate you.

We are so proud to celebrate Ms. Jailenne Parrott as our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year!
Jailenne has a gift for making sure our youngest Wildcats are never an afterthought. She notices the things that can easily be missed when you work with Pre-K students, and she speaks up to make sure they are included in the life of our school and have the same opportunities as everyone else.
She believes in her students, and she makes sure they know they belong. She brings that same thoughtfulness to her work with colleagues, listening to different perspectives, sharing her own, and always bringing the conversation back to what is best for kids.
Perhaps the best way to describe Jailenne is this: she asks for a lot, but never for herself. When her students need something, she makes the case, finds a solution, and keeps working until they get what they need.

Our Lady Wildcats kicked off the volleyball season with a WIN! What a way to start! Our girls battled through both games, came together as a team, and walked away with two victories in their season opener against BHH. We couldn’t be prouder of the way they represented Oglethorpe with teamwork, determination, and plenty of Wildcat pride.

Our 5th graders have had an amazing time on their trip to the Tybee Island 4-H Burton Center! From hands-on science to unforgettable coastal adventures, they’ve been busy exploring and learning every step of the way.
Highlights from the trip included:
