School Nurse Appreciation Day gives us the perfect opportunity to recognize someone who cares for our Wildcats with endless kindness, patience, and compassion each and every day. Nurse Laurie brings not only incredible medical expertise to Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary, but also a calming presence, a listening ear, and a heart that makes students and staff alike feel safe and cared for.
Whether she’s comforting a nervous student, helping a sick Wildcat feel better, or jumping into action when someone needs her most, she does it all with grace and genuine love for our community. Her impact reaches far beyond the clinic walls, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our Wildcat family.
Thank you, Nurse Laurie, for the countless ways you care for us all. We appreciate you more than words can say! 💛🐾

What an incredible night for our OAES Relay for Life team! With this year’s theme, *Driving Out Cancer,” our school community came together to show that when we unite, we can help push cancer further and further away.
We are proud to share that OAES was recognized as a Silver Team, raising over $3,500 for the American Cancer Society!
Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and supported our team. Every dollar raised helps fuel hope, research, and support for those impacted by cancer.
💜 Together, we are Driving Out Cancer! 💜

Thanks to this award, Ms. Oxford’s students will experience an unforgettable aerial arts field trip at Canopy Studio, where movement, creativity, and confidence soar to new heights. 🌟
We’re so proud of Ms. Oxford for bringing innovative, arts-based opportunities to our Wildcats, and we’re grateful to AthFest Educates for their continued support of arts education across Clarke County. 💛💙

The Wildcats stormed the court last night and captured our first-ever volleyball victory, taking down Barrow in a match we’ll never forget. 🏐🔥
Kinley poured in 18 points, but it was the grit, hustle, and teamwork from every Wildcat that sealed the win. None of it would’ve been possible without the leadership of Coach Camille and Coach Arellano, who’ve been building this team from the ground up.
And this is just the beginning — the first W is in the books, and the future is wide open. 💙💪
📣 Next up: come cheer us on as we take on Burks, Wednesday, October 1st at 5:30 in the CCSD Gym!
