🌧️🏃♂️ Fun Run Update! 🏃♀️🌧️
Due to the rain, our Fun Run has been rescheduled for Friday, September 27th! 🌟 Mark your calendars and get ready to support our Wildcats as they run to raise money for the 5th grade trip to Tybee Island. 🌊
Here’s how you can help:
1. **Collect Pledges**: Students will be gathering pledges from family and friends—either as a flat donation or per lap completed.
2. **Run & Track**: On the day of the Fun Run, teachers and volunteers will track each student's laps.
3. **Celebrate & Collect**: After the event, students will bring home a form with their total laps to collect pledges.
Even if you don’t have a 5th grader yet, your support will help continue this tradition for future classes. Let’s come together and make this event a success for our Wildcats! 💙💛

Today, our Wildcats had an udderly amazing time with the Georgia Mobile Dairy Classroom! 🐄🎉 Students got an up-close look at the milking process in action and learned all about the journey from farm to fridge. Our Wildcats now have a better understanding of where their milk comes from, the importance of dairy in their diet, and the hard work dairy farmers put into managing natural resources. 🥛🌿 #OAESWildcats #DairyDay #FarmToFridge

🌟 Lunch with Mr. Curry! 🌟
Congratulations to our August Students of the Month who enjoyed a special Chick-fil-A lunch with Principal Curry! 🥳 Your hard work, positive attitudes, and dedication truly make you shine. 🥁🥁 We aren't done! We are so very excited to announce of 2024-2025 Support Person of the Year--Ms. Farrah Bazzelle! 🥁🥁
✨ We talked to students about Ms. Bazzelle, and they lit up with excitement when they realized they got to talk about one of their favorite people in the school. Here’s what they shared: ✨ 'Her makeup is AH-mazing. She always looks so fashionable! I love seeing her jewelry and her shoes!'✨ 'She always knows how to make me laugh. ' ✨ 'I feel happy and excited every time I see her.' ✨ 'I love when she gets to use the mop! ✨ 'I know I'm safe because she's here.' ✨
Farrah is so much more than a school custodian—she is the hypesquad of OAES. Ms. Bazzelle naturally connects with everyone, whether it’s a student needing a smile or a staff member needing a laugh. Her incredible sense of humor brings light to even the messiest situations, and her dedication to our school is unmatched. Farrah’s always working, always making sure our students have a beautiful, functional space where they can focus and thrive. Her attention to detail shows in every corner of our school, making it a place we’re all proud to be.
But it’s not just what she does—it’s who she is. Ms. Bazzelle is gifted with preternatural attention to detail and notices everything, from a student’s new haircut to a staff member’s change in style, and she’s quick with a warm compliment that makes us all feel seen and valued. People who feel seen feel safe, and when Ms. Bazzelle is around, we all feel safe, appreciated, and genuinely cared for. Unsurprisingly, she is often one of the first to notice when one of us needs a supportive ear. Her ability to connect with each of us on a personal level makes her an irreplaceable part of our school community.
Farrah, you are truly a ray of sunshine in our hallways, and we are beyond grateful to have you as part of our Wildcat family. Your dedication, kindness, and hilarious spirit make you more than deserving of being our 2024-2025 Support Person of the Year. We love you, Ms. Bazzelle, and we couldn’t imagine our school without you! Thank you for giving us this opportunity to celebrate everything you are! #SPOTY #SchoolHero #SunshineInOurHalls"

🥁🥁 We are so very excited to announce of 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year--Mrs. Heidi Carr! 🥁🥁
✨ When we asked our students about Mrs. Heidi Carr, their faces lit up, and their smiles told us everything we needed to know about her impact. Here’s what they shared: ✨ 'She’s got the best smile.' ✨ 'She’s always so nice.' ✨ 'She knows how to explain really hard things in a way that makes me know I can do them.' ✨ 'She makes me feel happy.' ✨ 'She’s special.' ✨ 'She’s the best teacher.' ✨ 'She will always help kids.'
Mrs. Carr is not just an iconic figure at our school—she is a source of joy and strength for our entire community. As a dedicated EIP Teacher, she seems to be everywhere at once, always ready to jump in and lend a helping hand, no matter the task. Whether she’s guiding a student through a difficult concept or offering support and a lifted burden to a colleague, Mrs. Carr approaches every situation with a smile on her face bright enough to reflect all the love in her heart. 💖
To see Mrs. Carr in her element is to see Excellence without even a drop of hubris. Her interactions with students and staff are filled with warmth, patience, and a genuine desire to see everyone around her succeed. We are all better, happier, and more capable people because of her presence. To say that we are blessed to have Mrs. Carr as part of our Wildcat family is an understatement.
Mrs. Carr, your influence stretches far beyond these classroom walls. You create a brighter, kinder, and more inspiring place for all of us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Your unwavering and inherent belief in each of us empowers us to face and overcome any challenges that come our way in the future. Thank you for being the inspiring educator and person that you are. You deserve every bit of this recognition and we love having the opportunity to celebrate you!👏 #TeacherOfTheYear #OAESWildcats #IconicEducator #EIPExcellence
