Public Review of Recommended Middle School ELA Resource Adoption

Recently, a CCSD team of four instructional coaches, six middle school English Language Arts classroom teachers, and the district's ELA curriculum coordinator for secondary schools met to review instructional resources for ELA courses in grades 6-8. The adoption team scored and rated each resource based on the criteria offered by EdReports and aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.

The following print and digital resource has been recommended for adoption by the Board of Education: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Into Literature with Writable Grades 6-8.

Review of Materials

The public is invited to review the materials recommended for adoption, and there are in-person and online options available for doing so.

  • All print materials will be available at the CCSD District Office, 595 Prince Ave., Athens, on the following days:
    • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays through Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Public Comment

Public comment about the materials for adoption can be made at the Clarke County Board of Education meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Vernon Payne Meeting Hall at the District Office.

Other comments can be recorded during the viewing hours at the District Office., on this Google Form, or with hard copies provided.
