At its Thursday, Feb. 8 meeting, the Clarke County Board of Education approved the hire of Terry Liggin as an assistant principal at Clarke Central High School. 

Mr. Liggin joined the Clarke County School District at the start of this school year as a district behavior specialist and has 18 years of educational experience – including roles as a high school special-education classroom teacher and department head and a behavior intervention teacher at school districts in Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Kentucky University, a masters in Teacher Leadership from Georgetown College, and an Ed.S in Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. 

Mr. Liggin joins a Clarke Central administrative team that includes principal Dr. Swade Huff, associate principals Dr. Summer Smith and Tamika Henson, and assistant principal Everett Nealy. 

"I am thankful and blessed to work in Clarke County schools,” Mr. Liggin said. “I feel humbled with the opportunity to work with Dr. Huff and the Clarke Central staff. I am excited to impact students' lives and be a servant leader to the faculty and staff at Clarke Central High School. I feel led to this opportunity, and I plan to make the most of it."
