Meet the Principal!

    Latinda Dean, Ed.S.

    Greetings, Wildcat Nation!

I am thoroughly excited about beginning the 2023-2024 school year as the principal of Whit Davis Elementary School! This will be a year of new beginnings, and I look forward to working alongside faculty and staff, students, parents, and all stakeholders in our school community to create engaging and equitable opportunities where all students learn and achieve at their highest potential.

Prior to stepping into my role at Whit Davis, I served as an assistant principal at Clarke Central High School for three and a half years and an instructional coach in Bibb County for two years prior to that. I began my career in education as an English teacher in Dooly County and later went on to teach in Dougherty County. During my tenure in Dooly County, the ELA Department was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for Significant Gains on the American Literature End of Course Test in 2012. While in Albany, I had the pleasure of being named Teacher of the Year for Albany High School in 2015 and was one of eight finalists at the district level. I have earned degrees from the University of Georgia (BA), Troy University (MS), and Albany State University (EdS). I am currently working on my doctorate at the University of Georgia and hope to officially be a Double Dawg in May 2025.

It's going to be a great year! “Proud to be a Whit Davis Wildcat!”
