Q: What if I want my child to get off at a different stop?
A: Temporary transportation changes are not made for Special Needs Students. Best practices show that consistency is preferable for Special Needs Students.Q: What if my child is late or does not come home in the afternoon?
A: Call your child's school first, and then the school will call Transportation.Q: How are bus stops determined?
A: Special Needs bus stops are scheduled to pick up and drop off as outlined in the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).Q: How do I find out which bus route my child will be riding?
A: Special Needs routing information is provided at an open house or when a student is registered.
Q: What do I do if my Special Needs child is not going to ride the bus in the morning?
If it is a short-term absence (less than 3 days), call Transportation dispatch at 706.548.6971. If it is a long-term absence, please contact the school, who will contact the special needs supervisor.
Q: How do I change my special needs bus transportation?A: Contact the school your child is attending and have the school complete a new request. This process may take 3 to 5 business days.Q: Where can I find additional information concerning special needs transportation?A: Refer to your student's S.E.A.T.S. booklet. Your student should have received this book on the first day of school from your bus driver.
