What do I get with an adult meal purchase?

BREAKFAST MEAL:  Adults can select one breakfast entrée.  Most sites offer at least two entrée choices each morning.  With this entrée, an adult can select one serving of each of our side items that day, usually 4 oz. 100% juice, 1/2 cup of fresh or canned fruit, and 8 oz. of unflavored or flavored (low-fat and/or fat-free) milk.  To provide an example, a teacher could select a chicken biscuit, apple juice, banana, and 8 oz. milk, and the price of this meal would be $2.50.

LUNCH MEAL: Just like at breakfast, adults select one lunch entrée. Most sites have at least two-three entrée choices each day. With this entrée*, an adult can select one serving of each of our side items offered that day.  Depending on the level of the school, the number of side items* ranges from 4-6 options along with 8 oz. of unflavored or flavored (low-fat and/or fat-free) milk.  Some schools provide tea.  If tea is an option, an adult may select this as their beverage choice.   To provide an example, a teacher could select a slice of pizza, steamed fresh broccoli, garden salad, grapes, cranberries, and 8 oz. milk and/or tea, and the price of this meal would be $4.50.

*Portion sizes are adjusted for adults who work at elementary and middle school sites.  However, the portion size offered at these locations is not permitted to exceed the portion size served to high school students and staff.

Please note: When an adult buys a meal, the condiments that pair with the meal are complimentary; however, if a teacher pops in to grab a couple cups of dressing to go with their salad brought from home, their account will be charged to cover the costs of these items.  Remember, we are only charging $4.50/adult meal, so we cannot afford to give away condiments to adults who are not participating in our program.
