PBIS

  • What is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce the number of disciplinary incidents and improve school climates as well as overall academic outcomes among students.

    How does CCSD use/implement PBIS?

The Georgia Department of Education utilizes a best practices model for PBIS implementation, and currently CCSD is a participating district in the state PBIS implementation. All 21 schools (14 elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools) have been trained on school-wide, Tier 1 PBIS and are in various stages of implementation. CCSD believes that PBIS provides more equitable approaches to creating behavior expectations, safe environments, and positive climates for all students and partners with GaDOE to continue to implement and improve PBIS in our schools.
