    Our team is dedicated to creating and supporting partnerships among schools, families, and the Athens-Clarke County community. 

    As a central resource for family engagement, our staff strives to engage with our essential partners (parents, guardians, and the Athens-Clarke County community) to help our students achieve academic goals.

    Our Family Engagement Specialists (FES) direct school activities and provide opportunities for family involvement. With one dedicated to each of our elementary, middle, and high schools, our FES team members serve as liaisons between schools, students, and their families, coordinate high-quality parent-education services, and provide technical assistance and counseling to teachers and home visitors of families. 

    Our Community School Organizers (CSOs) work to coordinate and align community resources within our schools so that our students and families feel supported and our community members feel connected, which helps promote successful outcomes. Resources and programs are coordinated depending on the needs present at a particular school — academic, social-emotional, health-related, etc. — and target key priority areas of attendance, behavior, literacy, academic performance, and youth and family engagement.
